Reading from Genesis Chapter 49 LXX
Jacob's prophecy, uttered in his last words to each of his sons in Genesis chapter 49, that a prince shall be from Judah's descendants. This prince shall be the "expectation of nations" (Nations mean gentiles?), who will wash his garment in wine, the blood of the grape (as symbolised the Last Supper, where the wine is the Blood of the New Covenant).
Genesis 49:10 - 12 LXX
10 A ruler shall not fail from Juda, nor a prince from his loins,
until there come the things stored up for him; and he is the
expectation of nations.
11 Binding his foal to the vine, and the foal of his ass to the branch of it,
he shall wash his robe in wine, and his garment in the blood of the grape.
12 His eyes shall be more cheering than wine, and his teeth whiter than milk.
