Reading Genesis Chapter 31, from the LXX Septuagint (Brenton)
In the LXX, Laban changed the wages of Jacob for "the ten lambs", rather than ten times as is commonly translated in the Masoretic texts.
But what ten lambs was Jacob referring to?
Genesis 31:7, 41 LXX
7 But your father deceived me, and changed my wages for the ten lambs, yet God gave him not power to hurt me.
41 These twenty years have I been in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years among thy sheep, and thou didst falsely rate my wages for ten lambs.
